IT IS NO SECRET
For the King knows of these things, before whom also I speak freely; for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him, for this thing was not done in a corner (Acts 26:26)
Several years ago Evangelist Billy Graham held a crusade in Los Angelas. A certain radio singer named Stuart Hamblen was saved. Not long after that, he wrote a song entitled "IT IS NO SECRET." In this song, he says:
“It is no secret what God can do,
What He's done for others, He can do for you.
With arms wide open He'll pardon you,
It is no secret what God can do.”
Many centuries ago, the Apostle Paul stood before King Agrippa, and said almost the same words. Paul gave his own testimony of how God had changed him through the Damacus Road experience. Paul preached Jesus Christ to King Agrippa, almost persuading him to become a Christian. He declared that King Agrippa knew about these things, because, as Paul declares, "they were not done in a corner."
God's handiwork is revealed to us in every mountain, stream, and ocean. We see his majesty in the sun, the moon, the stars. His touch is seen in every flower, tree, or blade of grass. But, the highest of His revelations is found in the pages of the Bible. His Holy Spirit unfolds to us the mysteries of the Scripture as we read the pages of His Word. The greatest of these revelations are things concerning Jesus Christ.
He is the center of the Bible, the One who walks down every page and leaps out from every paragraph.
His virgin birth was no secret...it was proclaimed by angels
His life was no secret...it is recored for all to read about.
His death was no secret..it was witnessed by many.
His glorious resurrection was no secret...the stone was rolled away and death swallowed up in victory.
His ascension was no secret, it was witnessed by the men of Galilee and proclaimed by angels.
His return is no secret, God's Word declares it will happen.
God's promises to His children are no secret..
He will send His Son Jesus Christ to gather His Church home, ALL in His own time.
Many times we are TOO quiet about salvation and the grace of God, while TOO noisy
about things of the world. The Apostle stood with boldness and proclaimed the Gospel story to King Agrippa. God is calling us to continue to stand with boldness and proclaim His Word, after all IT IS NO SECRET....it is a message for all the world to hear.
Prayer: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done,on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but, deliver us from evil.
For thine is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
